Editor in chief

Editor-in-chief of the journal, Valery I. TELICHENKO, Doctor of Engineering, professor, an Honored scientist of the Russian Federation, a Full Member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences (RAASN), Professor of the Department of Construction of Thermal and Nuclear Power Facilities of MGSU, an award holder of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science, technology, and education. His professional research, educational, and administrative activity was recognized by honorary titles and awards of the Russian Federation, Vietnam, and Germany.

In 1970 he graduated from the Mechanical department of Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering named after V. V. Kuibyshev and acquired a profession of a mechanical engineer. After graduation, he worked as a foreman for the GlavMosStroi (Main Department for Housing and Civil Engineering in Moscow). He participated in the construction of “Leninist Communist Youth League Automobile Factory” – Avtomobilny Zavod imeni Leninskogo Komsomola (AZLK) in Moscow.

In 1971 he started his career at Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering named after V. V. Kuibyshev, beginning from the position of a research sector engineer.

In 1978 he upheld a Ph.D. thesis for profession 05.23.08 Technology and organization of construction (Engineering science).

In 1994 he defended a doctoral thesis on the subject “Scientific and methodological foundations of designing flexible construction technologies” for the special field 05.13.12 Automation Systems Design.

From 1991 to 2015, he was a Department Chairman, and from 1996, he was the Vice-Rector for Research of the MGSU. In December 2003, he was elected the Rector of the MGSU. In 2008 he was elected the Rector for the second term.

Under the direction of V. I. Telichenko, the MGSU ranked among the leading engineering colleges of Russia. In 2007 the MGSU became the winner of a contest of the innovative educational programs. In 2010, the MGSU was conferred a prestigious title, “National Research University”, that opened new capabilities for development of the construction science and education.

In December 2013, he was approved to the position of President of the MGSU.

As a member of creative teams, he conducted research works connected with the improvement of construction and road-making machines, application of mathematical methods, computer and information technologies in the field of organizational and technological design of construction. He participates in the activity on the creation of the introduction of environmental science for civil engineer education, conduction of research in the field of maintenance of ecological security in construction engineering.

The findings can be summarized in the following: development of the theory of flexible construction technologies, the theory of construction process simulation, scientific-methodological foundations of automated design control and building of large construction installations using telecommunications and IT-technologies, theoretical background and practical methods of quality management and ecological security maintenance for construction technologies. The results of scientific research on the state budget and contractual subjects are used for the development of organizational, technological, normative, and engineering documentation in design, research, and construction establishments.

Telichenko is a Ph.D. Adviser. He published more than 450 scientific papers, including more than 40 textbooks, tutorials, and monographs.

When working for the MGSU, he participated in the design and construction of several key projects in Moscow.

An essential place in the professional activity of V. I. Telichenko belongs to cooperation with foreign universities and scientific centers. He worked and lectured for engineering universities of Helsinki, Berlin, Aachen, Kassel, has a command of German.
